Dr. Anna Mazurkiewicz teaches history at the University of Gdansk, Poland. She is the author of two books on the American response to elections in Poland in 1947 and 1989. She recently edited two volumes: "East Central Europe in Exile: Patterns of Transatlantic Migrations" (Newcastle Upon Tyne: Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2013).
